Pel grant
I went to my first protest last weekend and it was so exhilarating! Me along with other College Democrats in DC when to capitol hill to rally against the EXTREME decrease in the pell grant. Now although this was only proposed by house republicans because they take majority this could be catastrophic. As of now the maximum benefit is $5,500 and this can be renewed two times in a academic year with the republicans proposal they plan on making it $500 dollars this is less than 10% of what it was originally. It is crazy to think that republicans can be so selfish and stupid! I am honestly infuriated at the fact that they could possibly think in their right minds that this is okay. I feel as if when republicans come up with ideas like this they really are not thinking about their constituents. There are kids out there that need these grants so that they can better their education. When you compare America to other countries in how accelerated we are and smart we are America falls short. You would be surprised but when it comes to education America does not come first. And to think that our tax dollars are paying for these congressman to represent the needs of the people! it seems to me that these congressmen are only concerned with the needs of themselves.

Coming all together
I use this picture because this picture represents people coming together, more specifically when we need to get together for a positive change. It is so important for us to all get involved when it comes to social causes. Anything that you are truly passionate about requires time and hard work. Its hard enough to get bills passed in congress with lobbyists shoving their views down congressmen's throat. So its up to us to make a change. As we all know strength is in numbers and with many people participating in regards to a social cause it will be easier for others to hear you. I hear to much today from young people that they feel like what they feel does not matter and that because they are not old enough to vote they feel like they should not care. But that is completely the opposite it is always the perfect time to get involved when it comes to social causes, be by attending a protest or posting a blog about what you feel. When i was only a sophomore in high school I started getting involved with politics, I volunteered for the Obama campaign twice a week and when it came time for elections I was passing out pamphlets and i was constantly in peoples faces because i was so passionate about what President Obama symbolized. All that mattered in the end though was that i found something that was really important to me and i worked hard at making my dream a reality , but that was only done because i networked and came together with like minded people .
